Clemens Ackerman Ph.D. Student

Clemens Ackermann is a Ph.D. student in the German Literature and Critical Thought program. He studied Catholic Theology and Germanistik at the University of Tübingen for four years before moving to Oregon, where he received his M.A. He is particularly interested in theories of intertextuality and the Modern novel as an interdisciplinary locus for philosophical reflection. Other areas of interest include the role of the theatre in the Goethezeit and its relations to ancient Greek theatre, as well as in the history of aesthetic theory.
